Women's empowerment, Kandy, Sri Lanka

K.G. Nimali waits with her daughter-in-law for a bus after dropping off their work at the Self-Employed Women’s Development Association (SEWA) in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Nimali and her daughter-in-law, former garment factory employees, sew cloth bags at home, on their own schedule, with materials supplied by SEWA, and are paid per bag.

From my personal project, "Woman" discovering women's empowerment in Sri Lanka created in and around Kandy, Sri Lanka.
