Tuolumne County resident, Carolyn Travels, 70, joins approximately 75 others at Sonora, California's Courthouse Square on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Travels believes the nationwide shutdown due to what she calls the "China Flu" is wrong. She believes the fear is created by people trying to bring down Donald Trump because of what he has done to restore our nation. She believes the American public is being lied to about the number of people affected by the virus.
The peaceful protest was organized by small business owners to make their voices heard and to protest the government’s control of, and reaction to, the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tuolumne County has a population of approximately 55,000 people. To date, there have been four confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the county.
