Saving Sri Lanka’s Dogs

Eva Ruppel sits on her bed in her rural property near Kandy, Sri Lanka, while watching two rescue dogs. Ruppel does not cage the approximate 170 rescued dogs that share her home, allowing them freedom to roam and interact in small packs in multiple pens throughout her home and property.

Ruppel created Tikiri Trust, with the financial assistance of her father, to rescue and re-home Sri Lanka's abandoned street dogs.

Ruppel is fluent in German, English and Sinhala.
