Protesting coronavirus restrictions in California

A woman who wishes to be identified by her first name only, Anna, walks along N. Washington Street in Sonora, California, on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. A small business owner in Sonora, Cindy Zelinsky, unofficially organized the Tuolumne County protest in reaction to the government’s control of, and reaction to, the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tuolumne County has a population of approximately 55,000 people. To date, there have been four confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the county.
