Saving Sri Lanka's Street Dogs
I traveled to Sri Lanka’s hill country seeking stories of women who pursued non-traditional roles in this largely Buddhist country. I discovered Eva Ruppel who is sharing her home with approximately 170 rescued dogs. The rescued animals roam her fenced property on the outskirts of Kandy, interacting in small packs in multiple gated areas throughout the property and inside her home.
Ruppel created Tikiri Trust, with the financial assistance of her father, to rescue and re-home Sri Lanka's street dogs
