• Contestants throw punches in the no-holds-barred "Bull of the Woods" competiton during the 66th Annual Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee in Tuolumne City, California, on June 28, 2015.

Two competitors stand toe-to-toe, and duke it out until one of them is knocked off the log. Contestants draw opponent's names randomly from a hat and box one another atop a fallen log. The winner from each round advances, again drawing a random competitor's name, until the last person standing is crowned champion.

The Lumber Jubilee celebrates the logging industry in Tuolumne County, and it is the oldest single community celebration in the county. The event attempts to preserve and nourish the traditions and customs which contribute to the deep roots of this community.
